Join us for this session covering two distinct topics led by Neal Gupta, Physics Partners Coach and hosted by Sir David Nieper Academy, Alfreton.
Using Video Analysis to Deepen Understanding in GCSE and A-Level Physics
This CPD session introduces teachers to Tracker, a free, open-source video analysis and modelling tool that can be used to enhance the teaching of both GCSE and A-level Physics. Participants will explore how simple video clips can be turned into powerful learning opportunities, allowing students to link real motion to graphs, equations and physical models. The session will focus on practical classroom use, from low-threshold GCSE activities to more demanding A-level investigations.
Delegates will need to download the software onto their laptops prior to the CPD. Download link is: https://opensourcephysics.github.io/tracker-website/
Demonstrating the Photoelectric Effect with a Gold Leaf Electroscope
This CPD session supports teachers in confidently demonstrating the photoelectric effect using a gold leaf electroscope, turning a classic but often misunderstood experiment into a clear and compelling classroom demonstration.
Expect plenty of cake, new ideas and chances for hands-on experimentation!
Physics Partners are delighted to be offering a series of twilight workshops for teachers of Physics in Kimberley and the surrounding area.
