Norwich Physics Support Hub: Energy
The Norwich Physics Support hub will be looking at the topic of Energy. This workshop is open to all teachers of physics but specifically aimed at non-physics specialists, early career teachers and trainee teachers.
The focus will be on KS3 and KS4 we will be looking at why the teaching of Energy has changed in recent years, and introducing hands on, inclusive and fun ways to develop students understanding of energy and build confidence with the maths, as ultimately, Energy is all about doing calculations!
The session will be run by Eleanor Wylie, an e
xperienced coach with a particular passion for engaging all in physics and teaching to develop an understanding of the basics.
Refreshments will be served from 4.15 in the foyer of the New Science Building which is ///fish.slim.feast on what3words. It is a bit of a walk from the main carpark but there is a pay and display closer (///gives.honest.fees). The session will then take place in one of the beautiful new labs in the building.
The Norwich physics teacher support hub is a friendly meeting of teachers who want to develop their physics teaching . It is useful for new physics teachers or non-specialists, who are looking for some support and guidance around practical work, pedagogy and engaging their students with physics. It’s free to attend and there will be cake and biscuits!
