This in-person workshop on Thermal & Matter is led by Christina Astin, Coach for Physics Partners and hosted by School of Science and Technology Maidstone. Refreshments and the opportunity to network from 3.45pm.

Teaching Matter & Thermal

In this session we’ll unpick the difference between temperature and heat and explore the concepts of specific heat capacity and latent heat, and the associated practicals, including some alternative experiments which can be easier to access. There will be a mix of subject knowledge and teaching ideas.

These sessions are for physics teachers, particularly non-specialists, early career teachers and teacher trainees. Technicians are also welcome to attend.

This CPD session is fully-funded and delivered by Physics Partners and forms part of the Maidstone Physics Hub series of twilight sessions generously supported by the Colyer-Fergusson Charitable Trust.
