Description
This in-person GCSE Physics workshop 'Teaching Waves with Confidence' will be led by Neal Gupta, from Physics Partners and hosted by Shirebrook Academy, NG20 8QF.
This training session is designed to support teachers of GCSE Physics in developing secure subject knowledge and effective teaching strategies for the Waves topic. We will explore the key concepts in both the required and extended content, including wave properties and sound.
Participants will have the opportunity to:
Clarify common misconceptions and how to address them in the classroom
Gain hands-on experience with key required practicals and demonstrations
Explore a range of interactive activities and resources to engage students of all abilities
Discuss assessment strategies and how to support students in applying their understanding to unfamiliar contexts
Whether you're a non-specialist, early career teacher, or simply looking to refresh your approach, this session will equip you with the confidence and tools to teach waves effectively at GCSE.
