Electromagnetism workshop - Maidstone Hub

This in-person workshop on Electromagnetism is led by Christina Astin, Coach for Physics Partners and hosted by School of Science and Technology Maidstone. Refreshments and the opportunity to network from 3.45pm.

Teaching Electromagnetism

We’ll break down this topic into two sections, looking at both the motor effect and electromagnetic induction. With plenty of hands-on demonstrations, we’ll practise using Fleming’s left hand rule and applying the principle to the motor and loudspeaker. And we’ll explore induction, showing how to use the PhET simulation in our teaching and applications such as the dynamo and microphone.

These sessions are for physics teachers, particularly non-specialists, early career teachers and teacher trainees. Technicians are also welcome to attend.
